Cookies & Browser Storage

Last updated:

The TorahML application sets no cookies. It uses your browser’s localStorage to remember UI preferences. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Strictly necessary security cookies

Cloudflare may set security cookies depending on the protections enabled for a request. These are used for delivery, bot mitigation or challenges, rather than analytics.

Possible Cloudflare cookies
NamePurpose and duration
__cf_bmBot protection, if enabled; expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
cf_clearanceRecords a passed security challenge, if issued; duration depends on Cloudflare configuration.
CF_AuthorizationCloudflare Access authentication on the separate owner-only host and Access login domain; duration follows the configured Access session. Public readers do not need an Access login.

See Cloudflare’s cookie documentation and Access cookie documentation for its current details.

Local browser preferences

These exact keys are stored on your device, separately for each site origin. localStorage is not a cookie and is not automatically attached to HTTP requests. Values remain until you change them or clear site data; they have no automatic expiry.

Feedback votes (sessionStorage)

The key tml.feedbackVote.<encoded feature and target> records your useful / not-useful choice so each result target can receive one vote per browser tab session. It uses sessionStorage, ends when that session closes, and is not used for tracking. If storage is blocked, the app keeps the choice in memory while the page remains open.

Managing your choices

Change preferences in the app, or clear this site’s storage in your browser to reset them. You can block storage; preference persistence will be unavailable. Browser cookie controls can also delete or block Cloudflare cookies, which may interrupt security challenges or owner sign-in. There is no analytics consent setting because no analytics runs here.
